When looking at the Arab-Israeli conflict it is important to be able to step back and discuss it meaningfully. This book is excellent at portraying the Israeli viewpoint using many supporting documents. If you read this book, you are given a chance to look into the documents and their history. I am old enough to remember some of the events from 1960's forward. Why was the Golem Heights important? What is happening now that Syria is having internal conflict? What has been offered to the residents of the Gaza Strip? One fact remains no matter what side you are on: If you recognize Israel as a state/country then you will negotiate with them, if you do not, then nothing will get settled and conflict will remain.
Obviously, the author has biased towards Israel. That being said, there is a ton of information. The author supports his conclusions with not only facts but also quotes from both sides of the argument.
Excellent coverage of an intense subject. This book clears the air in a way the media just doesn't address.everyone who votes should read this cover to cover.mike
This is an excellent book, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to know the truth behind what's going on over there. Well written, and everything is easy to find with an index and clear headings. References are given for every item, and information is only taken from reputable and fact-based sources. Debunks every myth with in-depth, complete and easy to understand analysis. Indispensible for thoughtful people looking for truth. This should be one of the main books in every library.
This is a good book. My opinion it could have been better and yet it deals with many of the common and popular myths about the nation of Israel and the middle-east conflict. Many ignore or forget that in the late 600s and early 700s nomadic tribes stormed out of the desert set upon death and conquest. The conflict is as ancient as Abraham of the Book of Genesis (that makes it almost 5500 years old).
Good book, very informative
Awesome book, reading excerpts from this will help you to cut through all of the lies and untruths that rages around the Arab Israeli conflict. Everyone should own a few copies of this book. One to keep on your shelf and others to give to your friends when they come over.
This book is a great place to start if you want to get up to speed on the Middle East as it relates to Israel. Every issue is covered from Biblical times to the present day. The book is broken down in chapters that explain each issue and is very easy to understand, and it is packed with footnotes.
