In 1967, A. L. (Art) Williams, Jr. was a high school football coach in south Georgis making $10,700 a year. He founded A.L. Williams in the 1970s and built it to the number on seller of individual life insurance in America during the 1980s. Today, Art is retired from the financial services industry.

I once worked for A.L. Williams, very unsuccessfully. But I did get to attend a meeting that Art led in St. Louis. Reading this book was almost like hearing him talk. It is a cautionary tale of how you can become a very wealthy person only to have it all taken away from you.But his story also shows what heroines when winners build others into winners. That is the heart and soul of the man, and of his book.
Amazing story about the A.L. Williams company (now Primerica). Art Williams has a great style to keep you captivated in the events, including the history as well as many of the concepts that have helped the company become the best in the industry. Overcoming many obstacles over the decades, it's a true testimony of how hard work and consistent effort and intensity will pay off in the long run. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more, or especially those who are looking to grow their independent business.
Very detailed book on how Primerica came to be. It is so refreshing to see the founder of a company fight to do the right thing by families he serviced as well as those employed. This book goes without saying as a must read for anyone in the company. However, it is an inspirational story and message for ANYONE.
If you want to learn how perseverance will get you to the next level, this is the book for you. I have been inspired by what Mr. Williams did. He was dealt a bad hand, and he changed his whole life to fix it. Not just for himself, but for all average normal middle income Americans, and Canadians. and anyone else that needs help with their finances. Damn good inspirational read.

The chances of Art succeeding were barely above zero.He built the largest financial services distribution company in North America and this book tells the story of how that came to be.
