A great book for anyone who loves skulls and black backgrounds. It has been tons of fun coloring the pictures in this book. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys these types of pictures. I would buy this book as a gift. The pages are one-sided and non-perforated.

I was given this book from Papeterie Bleu for free in exchange for my honest review.Sugar Skulls at Midnight is a great coloring book. With designs ranging from simple and fun, to a little more intricate this book has hours of coloring fun in its pages. The black background makes it perfect for neon colors. It has 35 designs printed on one side only. The pages are NOT perforated. When you are done you will have a book of lovely artwork. I have used markers, gel pens, crayons, and colored pencils and the paper is nice for using any of your favorite mediums. I have usually passed over skull coloring books before, usually buying mandalas or flowers. I'm so glad I was able to try skulls because I found that I really enjoyed coloring something so different then I usually do. I am looking forward to coloring more in this book and will post more pictures on Instagram as I do. @xstitchalanna

I love these books. I'll be honest, I'm a man, and at first, I thought the idea of adult coloring books was stupid, and for women... but now I understand them, and use them often. They can help with concentration, things like quitting smoking, figuring out moods, and problems... I really do recommend this book and getting into the habit of coloring as a form of therapy.... Make sure you have quality colored pencils though... not cheap ones... This particular book might seem morbid to some, but if you really look at the pictures... you just might see a story... very fun indeed!

The 'At night' black background aspect of this coloring book makes the images really POP as you color them. Teens would love to color these images. With this sort of book, you can go absolutely wild with color and it turns out beautifully. Good book.

Coloring. This has been an activity that I have enjoyed since I was a toddler. Holly Hobby, Garfield, Strawberry Shortcake, Walt Disney - these were some of my favorites when I was a child. It was so much fun to just sit with a clean page and a fresh box of crayons and just let my imagination go. I would color for hours. I think I even took a book or two with me when I went to college - just so I could have something to relax with when classes and exams got me too stressed out. Then I had kids of my own and I was never happier and more relaxed then when I could sit down with them and watch them explore their own creativity and enjoy the smell of that fresh box of crayons themselves! Now, here I am some odd number of years later...my kids are a little older, I'm a little older and coloring has slowly been passed aside for their electronic devices. But then, someone decided to give the coloring pages of my youth an upgrade and come out with coloring books for adults! Intricate, sophisticated, universally appealing designs that brought back the joy and creativity of my youth! A new trend has emerged and I couldn't be happier!Here's where the fun part comes in: thanks to modern day technology, I can reach out and find others like me who love to color and take your every day box of crayons to a whole other level! This is glue I found Paperterie Bleu and their line of coloring books for adults. Now normally, I will admit, I would probably pass over a Day of the Dead themed colored book for Mandalas and Flower Fairies but I saw that they were having a contest online and I figured why not? I have an artist friend who has a while series of Day of the Dead themed paintings that she does and I absolutely love, so while I can't paint to save my life, I could create my own "works of art" with crayons and colored pencils. I didn't win the grand prize but they did send me a few of their books to try. Boy, am I glad I entered!! I was treated to two books (Sugar Skulls at Midnight Vol. 1 & 2) filled with whimsical, intricate and creative designs all backed with a wonderful black border! My imagination went wild and I couldn't wait to start coloring! I have only had time to color a few pages in the past few weeks but I have enjoyed exploring the images within and picking my next choices. Colored pencils, markers...they both look amazing on the paper they used to make these books! I'm on the hunt for some nice gel pens so I can see how those look with the images as well! Even my kids have asked to color a few pages so this is certainly something that will be enjoyed by coloring artists of all ages! If you're looking for a new and unique book to spend your days and nights coloring and exploring it, I would recommend both of these books to you! Got this coloring book for my wife. This is a very detailed coloring book with some great pictures ro color. The pages are thick which is nice and it's just a good quality coloring book with enough details and random pictures to keep even the best artist busy for hours on end. Definitely a good purchase.

First of all, this is the first "adult" coloring book I have ever bought that doesn't have perforated pages. Hate that! Secondly, the paper is horrible quality; especially if using sharpies. The paper soaks the ink in and bleeds everywhere. All in all, I was so disappointed. Sadly the designs are really cool, which just makes it even worse.

Sandra Paulsen. Dr Paulsen is author and illustrator of, “Looking Through the Eyes of Trauma & Dissociation: An Illustrated Guide for EMDR Therapists and Clients,” which has been translated into Japanese and German. She is a fellow of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and co-edited The Neurobiology and Treatment of Traumatic Dissociation: Toward an Embodied Self (2014). She is co-authoring and illustrating a childrens book on dissociation with Ana Gomez. Dr Paulsen was invited faculty at the First and Third World Congresses of Ego State Therapy in Germany, 2003 and South Africa, 2010, Japan EMDR Conference 2010, Masters Series Lecturer at EMDRIA conference in Toronto, 2004. She wrote chapters in Corsini’s Encyclopedia of Psychology and Handbook of Innovative Psychotherapy, and in Shapiro’s Solutions II, Forgash’s Healing the Heart of Trauma, and Luber’s EMDR Scripted Protocols. She has collaborated with John G. Watkins, originator of ego state therapy. She was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Hawaii; and Acting Chief Psychologist at Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. She now lives and works on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle, specializing in intensive treatment for early trauma and attachment injuries and teaches workshops around the world in ego state therapy and dissociation, somatic therapy for EMDR practitioners and the Early Trauma protocol of EMDR for attachment injuries.

Dr. Paulsen's book is a must for early trauma survivors and the therapists who treat them. Most EMDR therapists have, at one time or another, had the troubling experience of utilizing standard EMDR which goes no where, or even worse, floods the client and causes them to not want to continue processing. This book helps clients and their therapists, better understand how the trauma from youth is held by different ego states that helped the body cope during such tormenting times. The challenge is that those experiences continue to haunt the body when triggers occur, leaving one to feel as if the old traumas are still happening, even though it is years later. This is the best of both worlds, by combining EMDR and Ego State work, the body, mind and soul have a greater opportunity for healing when other methods have failed. This helps the client process their traumas without becoming overwhelmed or flooded and is much gentler than standard EMDR. Thanks to Dr. Paulsen for developing such a wonderful resource and for providing a way to help people move beyond their traumas and live the lives they were meant to live without being hijacked by someone else's abuse.

We love Magic School Bus books at our house, and I got this because of our recent hurricanes. Boy, is this a long one! This book is much more descriptive and factual than the classic, original Magic School Bus books. I hate to admit it, but reading this to my kids at bedtime is a chore. I'll stick to the originals.

I bought this for my Magic School Bus obsessed 3 year old and it was a hit! I love that it goes into decent detail for young children and holds their attention for long periods of time. We have had to start putting my son to bed earlier because he spends at least 30 min on this book alone!

My son started reading this series at school, he was so interested i've kept buying the next book and he loves reading them. Great book series!

This is a fun book with several great arrangements! It's not overly difficult so a few practices is all it takes for me. I am a self-taught pianist with 15 years under my belt and this is one of those books that actually makes me happy to practice :)

I was a little disappointed in this book as it was labeled late intermediate. However, I think intermediate or early intermediate would have been more appropriate. I was going by the rating of the Christmas books and it did not match those ratings. That being said, if you need a short prelude or offertory; you could easily use these for that purpose. Amazon has a great selection of these Alfred books and with prime there is no shipping cost.

It is wonderful to be able to view a sample and see the table of contents and check the difficulty of the music before buying. It makes the decision to buy easier. I'm not disappointed in my purchase.

Cindy Berry has done it again. Every pianist should have this book. It is an excellent arrangement of hymns to be played in church. Wonderful book, as all her books are!

Cindy Berry is one of my favorites - I play piano/organ for two churches each week. Her music is used quite a lot.

This book was just a tad simpler than what I generally play. Not enough challenge for me. As I said in another review if I had been able to sample a page or two I would have known not to purchase this particular one. Would be good for a younger person in their beginning years of playing for church.

Bought this for my wife and she loves these arrangements.

My first books from him were in a “doodle” creature style. While “Maskara” is not in that style as much, I do see some evidence of the doodle elements in this book which were missing in Mr. Rubio's recent “Sirena” coloring book. The focus of the designs in this book is on masks. While most of the figures are those of lovely females, there are a few men in the mix of designs as well as a really cute cat and a great owl design (based on which I'd love to see an animal book by this designer!)The designs are detailed and some have intricate and small areas to color. Most of the pages are black line designs on white; however, some have black printed backgrounds. Once again as in “Sirena” there is a fairly heavy use of black on some designs though in this case, it is the backgrounds. The lines of the designs are a heavy black as well.Phoenix Amulet (the publisher) has indeed set the bar high for other publishers to try to match. The paper a good heavy weight with good tooth for colored pencils. The designs are printed one-sided, the pages have excellent perforations and, best of all, has a covered spiral binding that makes it easy to open and lay this book flat for coloring. The only improvement I could suggest would be a framing line at the outer edges of the design so that I don't have to try to color at the edges of the page.This is what I found in coloring in this book and testing my coloring medium on the paper41 Mask inspired designs including one “poster” page that is a double size fold-out page.Printed on one side of the pagePaper is white, medium/heavy weight, rough with excellent tooth and perforated pagesBinding is spiral with the cover protecting the spiral.The book lays flat in the open position for ease of coloring.The designs stop short of the perforations and removing pages is very easy if you wish to do so. There are unfinished elements at all edges of the pageAlcohol based markers bleed through this paper. If you use this coloring medium, I highly suggest that you either remove pages before coloring, or as I do, use card stock or several sheets of paper as a blotter below the working page. That will keep the pages or the surface below from being marred.Water based markers, India ink pens and gel pens do not bleed through the paper though some left the slight shadow of the back of the page.Coloring pencils extremely worked well. The paper is definitely rough to the touch and has excellent tooth for pencils. Both oil and wax based pencils worked very well for providing good pigment. I was able to layer the same color for deeper tones, layer multiple colors and to blend easily using a pencil style blending stick as well as wet blending medium for excellent results.

I had this book on preorder and was really excited to finally receive it. The illustrations are beautiful and unique in this coloring book. The paper is a light cardstock which should hold up to any mediums and has a real nice tooth to it unlike any of my other coloring books. It is a artist quality. Don't be afraid to buy you will love it.

This book is positively gorgeous! 40 single sided drawings and a mini poster. The paper takes prismacolors very well, and they are made even better by blending with odorless mineral spirits. I attached a WIP that I used this method on and I’m so excited to work on more pictures in this book!

Stunning artwork great quality book. Nice paper and well bound with spiral binding hidden with a false spine so you can see at a glance what it is while on the bookshelf. Love that the images are also single sided.

This is a spectacular cloroing book! I have colored almost 20 of the images so far, and they turned out beautifully! Most images are of beautifulwomen with masks, flowers, and jewels.There is even a cool pic of a king with a dragon surrounding him. Love it!

After a hiccup in the delivery, this book was well worth the problems. The illustrations are unique and gorgeous. They are printed on quality paper, one side only, and spiral bound. I have hundreds of top quality adult coloring books and this is one of the very best.

artwork beautiful. I would have given FIVE STARS, but I do not know why artists think they need to add "more" to the picture. why is a bird & 2 knives drawn in the picture? it takes AWAY from the beautiful artwork. this is NOT A negative review, the paper is very nice, deep dark drawings. Just wish artists do not think they have to fill the whole page with items that do not fit the picture. BTW, I have all of Mardels books. I would recommend this book, just sometimes, less is more.

I am just blown away by the unique and exquisite artwork in this book! What a treat to adult color in this book! So far I have used Derwent Inktense watercolors and the paper holds up really well. One of my favorites now.
